Nothemba Kula is the Founder and Director of PHS. She is a public health and international development expert with a master’s degree in Public Health from the University of London. Nothemba specialized in health services management, at the London School of Hygiene and tropical Medicine (LSHTM). Nothemba previously served as a management consultant for the World Bank Pretoria country office, the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the UK Department for International Development (DFID) providing technical assistance for the development and implementation of national and regional health programs in Southern Africa. Nothemba has also worked with the South African National Department of Health at various levels and has extensive health program design, project management, implementation and evaluation experience. Nothemba’s areas of technical expertise include health systems strengthening, policy development and implementation, quality improvement and assurance, structuring public private partnerships, grants management as well as program management of disease programs such as Tuberculosis, HIV, maternal and child health as well as supporting government to strengthen the COVID-19 response
